Upstream of the Banjo River, which flows through Saiki City in Oita Prefecture, is a “firefly village” where fireflies have made their home in and around the river’s tranquil and clear waters. We are a life science company that contributes to the food and health of people all around the world by taking advantage of the power of nature in Japan; that is, bountiful natural blessings in the form of clean water and fermentation technology.
In April 2019, we got a new start as a Group subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation Life Sciences Limited.
KOHJIN Life Sciences Co., Ltd. has a long history spanning over 70 years from the early days of the former company, KOHJIN Co., Ltd. As a member of the Mitsubishi Corporation Life Sciences Group, we are bringing together the Group’s renowned fermentation technologies as a way of making even further strides forward. Moreover, we are committed to contributing to people’s food and health by providing high-quality, high-value products in the area of life science that meet the needs of customers both in Japan and all across the world.
As a manufacturing company with decades of experience, we are proud of the people who came before us, whose painstaking efforts and diligent study led to KOHJIN Life Sciences Co., Ltd. developing into the company it is today. Our unchanging wish is that we continue to be a company that our family members and friends can be proud of.
